The rules for using Speedtest.now, submitting results, creating accounts, and participating in leaderboards.
Use of the Service
Speedtest.now provides browser-based internet diagnostics, educational guides, rankings, and optional account features. You may use the service for personal, professional, and troubleshooting purposes as long as your activity does not interfere with the platform or other users.
Acceptable Testing
You agree not to submit scripted, automated, falsified, manipulated, or intentionally misleading test results. Automated abuse, artificial traffic generation, benchmark manipulation, and attempts to bypass quality checks may result in rate limiting, result removal, or account suspension.
Accounts and Verification
Some features, including saved result history and weekly competition participation, require a free account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for using an email address you control. Leaderboard eligibility may require email verification.
Leaderboard and Competition Rules
Leaderboard entries must pass automated and manual quality checks. Speedtest.now may exclude results that appear fraudulent, anomalous, automated, routed through suspicious infrastructure, or inconsistent with normal browser testing. Competition decisions are made to preserve fairness and data quality.
Speed Test Data
Test results may be used in aggregate rankings, ISP benchmarks, country statistics, product improvements, and quality analysis. We do not promise that every test will appear publicly, and we may remove or recalculate results when data quality issues are discovered. See the privacy policy for data handling details.
ISP and Informational Content
Provider descriptions, plan information, pricing, coverage, and market notes are informational and may change. Always confirm current plan details with the provider before purchasing service. You may submit corrections through the site where available.
Availability and Accuracy
Speedtest.now aims to provide reliable diagnostics, but results can be affected by Wi-Fi, device hardware, browser behavior, routing, server load, ISP congestion, and background traffic. The service is provided as-is and may be unavailable during maintenance or outages.
